What is happening with version 4.0?

9/6/2010 1:06:04 AM | Dušan Rodina | 1350x

Version 4.0 was supposed to be released yesterday, but my estimation was wrong.

The plan for release of the version 4.0 wasn't fulfilled. Unfortunately, my estimation was wrong for two reasons:
1) I develop this application in my free time, which is sometimes unpredictable.
2) "90 % complete" problem.

Currently I don't add any new feature to the program, but only test and fix found problems.

Some features may be deferred until a next version to I speed up the release of 4.0.

I hope new version will be ready for use very soon.

Incredible tool!!!

I ask you, do it integrated with SharpDevelop. It will be the Poor Man's MS Studio!!!

As I wrote before, I observe this project with great interest.

Allow others to fix bugs to battle the "90% complete" problem. You can personally review each fix if you are afraid that someone else might post poor quality code. Reviewing a fix is usually faster than making it yourself.

Release v 4.0 as a beta. By having more eyes and hands you will be albe to spot bugs quicker and also notice rare bugs.

Would be nice to release 4.0 as Beta, without source-code. Let other people help with testing.

How about releasing a beta test version ?

I have a habit of saving my file as a copy every 30 minutes anyway.

Maybe an "autosave" feature - like the one in MS Office - would be a good feature?

It will be implemented in one of next minor versions.

No worries, better with a stable release later, then a rushed release with problems.

I'm sure it will be worth the wait :)

I don't think so. Although it's succesful model of development it isn't universal salvation of all kind of troubles.
