Hi,

If you want to connect an Oracle database to Database sidebar, you can do it this way:

  • Click on the second button Connect Database
  • Connection String dialog will open
  • Choose OLE DB as the data source
  • Click on the ellipsis button [...] for connection string
  • Database Selection dialog will show
  • Set Provider to OraOLEDB.Oracle
  • Set data source for your Oracle database server
  • Set your database name to initial catalog and specify the user and the password in the Authentication group

Similarly, you can use the database reverse engineering feature (Ribbon/Process/Reverse Engineering/Database)

Choose OLE DB as the data source and set the connection string in the same way as described above.

RE: 32/64 Bit Problem

Many thanks for the answer

I am currently locked by my system: a 64 Bits MS OS with an Oracle Client 32 Bits.

The 64 Bits Software Ideas Modeler does not list the OraOLEDB.Oracle DB Provider but does list it when the Oracle OLE 64 Bits Package is installed.

I will try again with the 32 Bits Software Ideas Modeler.

But I have another question: how many people are using the Dusan Rodina name?

Working now.

So I am going to check now what you software can do for me.

It seems that it should cover many of my requirements and that is really fantastic!

Thanks again

Thank you very much for your positive review. You're welcome. To answer your question about how many people are using the name - on this website just one person - me :)
