View (Ribbon Tab)

View ribbon tab provides application environment settings, access to project model, open windows and tools for handling macros.

Macro Group

Macro Group provides actions for work with macros – recording, editing and running recorded macros. Macro is a sequence of actions, which are grouped in a single action.

Macros - Shows a list of macros, from which you can choose one and run it.

Start Recording - Starts recording a new macro. All performed user actions and commands will be recorded.

Stop Recording - Stops recording the current macro. It shows a dialog for setting a name for the new macro and saves the macro.

Replay Macro - Replays the last recorded macro.

Edit Current Macro - Opens the current recording macro in Macro Editor, which allows you to adjust the macro commands.

Model Group

Model Group provides tools for browsing the model from various perspectives, as a list or as navigation through the interconnected graph.

Element Browser - Opens Element Browser window, which provides a list of all elements in the current project model.

Model Navigator - Opens Model Navigator window. Navigation through the model starts from the selected element.

Grids Group

Grids Group provides access to several grid views on the current project. It allows you to see the relationships between elements in the tabular form.

Diagrams - Opens Diagram Grid window. It shows (in tabular form) which elements are used on which diagrams.

Stereotypes - Opens Streotype Grid window. It shows (in tabular form) which stereotypes are used on which elements.

Tagged Values - Opens Tagged Value Grid window. It shows (in tabular form) which tagged values are used on which elements.

Relationship - Opens Relationship Grid. It shows, in tabular form, which element is related (with any relationship) to which element.

Lists Group

Lists Group provides access to special lists of project elements – use case, requirements.

Use Cases - Opens Use Cases window, which contains a list of all use cases in the current project. It is similar to Element Browser, but it contains (and allows you to edit) special use case fields. It also has a button for adding new use cases.

SysML Requirements - Opens SysML Requirements window, which contains a list of all SysML requirements in the project. It is similar to Element Browser, but it contains (and allows you to edit) special SysML requirement fields.

Indicators Group

Indicators Group offers actions for showing or hiding various indicators, which are displayed as small icons over elements in edited diagrams.

Associated Diagrams - Turns on/off displaying of icon, which indicates whether an element is associated with one or more diagrams. Associated diagrams can be edited using Add and Remove buttons in Associated Diagrams Tab in Element Properties dialog.

Multiple Usage Of Element - urns on/off displaying of icon, which indicates whether an element has been used on more than one diagram.

Documentation - Turns on/off displaying of icon, which indicates whether an element has a documentation.

Creators And Participants - Turns on/off displaying of marks for creators and participants for each element.

Auto Guides Group

Auto Guides Group provides special guides which helps you to draw nicer, better aligned diagrams.

Grid - Shows or hides the grid in the diagram editor and turn on/off the snap to it.

Show Grid - Shows or hides the grid in the diagram editor. This setting is independent from Snap To Grid.

Snap Lines - Turns on/off showing auto snap lines and snapping to them.

Snap To Grid - Turns on/off the snapping to the grid. This setting is independent from displaying the grid.

Rulers - Shows or hides horizontal and vertical ruler in the diagram editor.

Zoom Group

Zoom Group offers various zoom actions. It allows you to reset zoom to 100% or fit the diagram content into the window.

Zoom 1:1 - Sets the zoom of the current view to 100 %.

Fit To Window - Adjusts the zoom to make visible all contents of the active diagram.

Fit To Width - Adjusts the zoom to utilize the whole available width for displaying contents.

Fit To Height - Adjusts the zoom to utilize the whole available height for displaying contents.

Window Group

Window Group offers actions for work with open windows, for displaying and hiding sidebars and bars, changing quality of rendering and it also allows you to switch to the full screen mode.

Sidebars - Shows a submenu which allows you to show or hide various sidebars.

Toolbox - Shows or hides the toolbox. Toolbox contains all available drawing and editing tools for the active diagram.

Status Bar - Shows or hides the status bar. Status bar displays information about the current application status (e.g. cursor position, selected element number) and allows you to zoom the current diagram.

TabBar - Shows or hides the bar with open tabs.

Rendering Quality - Sets the quality of diagram rendering in the diagram editor. There are three levels of rendering quality and independent anti-aliasing switch:

  • Draft the worst but fastest quality of diagram rendering. It turns off gradients, shadows, effects and antialiasing (for drawings and also for texts).
  • Normal the medium quality of diagram rendering. It turns off smooth shadows (all shadows are rendered as flat) and effects.
  • Best the best quality of diagram rendering. The graphics is rendered in best possible quality.
  • Anti-Aliasing Turns on/off rendering with anti-aliasing.

Windows - Provides the list of open windows and allows you to switch to them.

Minimize - Minimizes the current tab / MDI child window.

Maximize - Maximizes the current MDI child window.

Close - Closes the current tab / MDI child window.

Close All - Closes all open windows. It does not close the current project.

Fullscreen - Switches from normal mode to full screen mode or vice versa. The full screen mode provides the biggest space for the diagram editor area.
