Cooperation and aliases

General

Is there any in-depth documentation on these features? While I see that they are there, I don't really understand how to use them.

Alias feature allows you to set multiple names to an element.

You can create a new alias group using menu Project / Aliases / Create New Alias Group. This new group will be activated after its creation. Now you can rename the elements in your diagram (actually you set aliases within this active group). You can switch among defined alias groups (sets of names) using Project/Alias menu. You can set names for customers, analytic names, implementation names, names in various languages, etc.

The cooperation sidebar is decribed here:

Cooperation features provide overview about persons who are working on the project. Members of team can work on the same project and add their comments to each elements using Cooperation tab in Item Properties dialog. Each entity remembers its creator.

This is only brief answer, I will prepare more texts about this topic.

RE:

Dusan, thank you for your reply. I will have to play around with aliases and see how it works for me.

As for cooperation, the trouble I am having is I cannot seem to assign the creator in the Cooperation tab for an element. It's just an empty drop-down, even if I have set up multiple people in the project Cooperation pane. After peeking at the source of a sample *.simp file, I see that the program is assigning the "default" person as the creator of each element, but I cannot understand how you would change this apart from manually editing the *.simp file.

At the moment, I see no need for cooperation in the work that I'm doing, so I'll be happy to wait for your forthcoming additional texts on the topic.

Thank you again,

Chris
