line behavior (#209)

why did you make line behavior completly correct as i suggested before. Crow's Foot is still moving along border of entity. it makes no sence. every time when i move entity i had to remove foot too. really why you make me do it))

Thank you for your notice - the locking of end points really doesn't work for rectangular relations in the current version. It will be improved in the next release, which I want to release this week.

SplinterX 24 April 2013 13:43:47

I will work on it gradually.

SplinterX 24 April 2013 18:35:14

ok. but it make no sence to realese version with only part of right work. better

SplinterX 24 April 2013 19:13:45

realese it at once.

I hope the implementation of line handling in the current version doesn't look incomplete. I always release the new functionality in specific units, which are complete.

Currently the ends can be pinned in two ways:

- automatically (not pinned)

- locked - the ends are pinned to the specific point on perimeter

The way you proposed is "semi-locked". It has not locked the side only the vertical coordinate. I agree it is useful and I thank you very much for this suggestion.

SplinterX 25 April 2013 2:46:54

sorry again, but because of my bad knowledge of english i confused.

i suggested to make line behavior completely like in erwin and a little better. locking should be defauult. in two options: strong lock point to point. no moving can'y change position of locks or end point of line can change side of entity and remember position on vertilcal or horisontal locking.

Dusan Rodina - softwareideas.net 27 April 2013 0:42:55

I will certainly work on it.

Hello.

I am not sure if this thread is still active but I will try.

The topic is similar anyway.

Line locks.

Every time I add new line into a diagram I need to make lock setting all the time. Can it remember my last setting or how can I set the defaults for that, I couldn't find it anywhere.

Dusan Rodina - softwareideas.net 8 October 2020 21:55:56

Hello,

Currently, there is not any global lock setting. The locks are turned on or off depending on the location where you place the end of the inserted connector. If it is in the middle, no lock is applied. If it is near the border, the connector will be locked to a particular position on the border. These auto settings may be adjusted using the context menu or ribbon buttons.

Or are you looking for global lock settings for Absolute lock or Point auto side?

I didn't use the app for a while and didn't know about aiming. The problem then that it is too tedious. Because I need to constantly avoid attaching a connection to an attribute. It is needed only when you attach an attribute to a class with the stereotype Data Type. And at least for me such connection isn't needed at all and I doubt that it is popular for the others.

Dusan Rodina - softwareideas.net 11 October 2020 19:32:10

Thank you for your feedback. The lock behavior will be revisited.

Dusan Rodina - softwareideas.net 14 October 2020 8:15:29

Version 12.80 should improve the behavior a little bit. Please try the new version, whether it is better also for you.

SplinterX 14 October 2020 20:38:15

I do still need to aim but now it is much easier. Not sure what you did.
