Software Ideas Modeler 15.10 adds Data Vault modeling, Qt/QML code generation, and faster diagramming
Highlights at a glance
- Data Vault Diagrams — first-class support for modeling Hubs, Links, and Satellites.
- Data Vault 2.0 builder for ERDs — generate DV2 structures directly from your conceptual/physical ER models.
- Business Key attribute option (ERD) — clearly mark the identifiers your warehouses depend on.
- Qt/QML source code generation — speed up UI prototyping and implementation. (RQ#2764)
- Batch collapse/expand — a new context-bar action to fold or unfold multiple elements in one move.
- Automatic transitions — now available for Calculation, IDEF3 Process, and IDEF3 Object diagrams.
What’s new
Data Vault Diagrams
Model enterprise data warehouses with confidence. Software Ideas Modeler 15.10 introduces native Data Vault diagrams, with shapes and relationships tailored to Hubs, Links, and Satellites. This makes it easier to communicate lineage, enforce modeling conventions, and keep large warehouse designs consistent across teams.
Data Vault 2.0 builder for ERDs
Bring Data Vault discipline to your existing ER models. The DV 2.0 builder can derive the appropriate Hub/Link/Satellite structures and relationships from ERDs, accelerating the path from conceptual design to a warehouse-ready blueprint.
Business Key option for ERD attributes
You can now mark attributes as Business Keys in ERDs. This small but important addition clarifies which identifiers come from the business domain (vs. technical keys) and improves downstream generation and documentation.
Source code generation for Qt/QML
Front-end teams working with Qt can generate QML from user interface diagrams, reducing manual boilerplate and keeping UI implementations aligned with design artifacts.
Collapse/expand multiple elements at once
A new context bar action lets you collapse or expand several elements in one go—perfect for decluttering dense diagrams during reviews or presentations.
Automatic transitions for additional diagram types
Automatic transition creation is now supported in Calculation, IDEF3 Process, and IDEF3 Object diagrams, helping you move faster when mapping flows and behaviors.
