RE: Localization

Hello,

1) the problem is that the Language menu is not created dynamically. This will be changed in version 4.0.

2) The localization file can be included in SIM. If you want, you can send it to my email softwareideas@softwareideas.net or isvet@isvet.sk.

some suggestion

Hi.

Thanks for your good tool.

It works so fast and has beautiful GUI.

I have some suggestions about additional functions.

1. about Copy and paste function

- copy function with Ctrl+DragnDrop

- shift to right and bellow of original object after Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V

2. Export SVG

- Non-English language

Key shortcuts

Hello!

I tried to use your tool and I see that much work had been done and SIM has great potential. Still it has some major drawbacks which prevent me from using it as it is.

The most unpleasant thing is the lack of keyboard shortcut. I have to take mouse all the time to make any simple action, like adding an attribute. Also, there unnecessary mouse clicks - after adding an attribute I have to click on to begin editing

RE: Key shortcuts

Hi.

I appreciate any idea how to improve this program. It can be so adapted for more users. I will try to include also your requirements in version 4.0.

Flowchart diagrams

Hey. This is a great, great diagramming tool. Good job.

Is it possible that you might add support for simple flowchart diagrams sometime in the future?

Thank you

RE: Flowchart diagrams

Hi!

I thank you for the expressed recognition.

Your suggestion is very valuable. Flowchart diagrams will be supported in one of following versions. I firmly believe they will be included in the version 4.0.

Hi!

Thanx for great tool!

Small suggestion. I think that tables used in most forms so if SIM lets place tables with columns on user interface diagram, then usage area of interface diagram will improve strongly.

RE:

Hi!

API Documentation

Any chance that the source code includes enough comments that you could compile some API docs using something like nDoc?

I have a tool that extracts ER info from Salesforce.com and currently generates a VioletUML class diagram, put I'd love to generate a SoftwareIdeasModeller ER diagram instead. I took a quick look at the SoftwareIdeasModeler.Core assembly, but it's a bit hard to make headway without a little documentation.

RE: API Documentation

Does your tool generate files or is it a plug-in? The SIMP file specification can be published. If it is a plug-in, it is the worse case, because Software Ideas Modeler has presently no plugin architecture and no developer API.

Mike 27 April 2010 18:38:47

RE: RE: API Documentation

My tool is a standalone application, I'd just like to be able to include the SIMP assembly and use it to generate the diagram.

Essentially I would simply be creating the diagram programatically based on entity definitions from another source (and in a non-standard format).

Mike 27 April 2010 18:41:03

RE: RE: RE: API Documentation

I could simply write the actual text of the file in a manner that would simulate the SIMP file format, however, that would force me to constantly play catchup as you turn out new versions (which is often!).

It would definitely be preferable to directly manipulate SIMP via it's assembly.
