Thank you for these details. I will try to reflect this requirement in the design of next version.

Software Engineer

I'm curious to know if you even tried this tool before publishing it. For example, making anything other than a trivial sequence diagram is either impossible or frustratingly difficult. I tried adding alt operands but I couldn't place anything INSIDE of them. There is no proper hierarchy of elements, it's incredibly confusing! There are buttons that appear to control Z order, but they aren't labeled, have no tooltips and in fact don't do anything when clicked.

There's also numerous rendering bu

RE: Software Engineer

Some of your comments have been incorporated in the version 3.25. Sequence diagram editing will be significantly improved in the version 4.0.

RE: Software Engineer

Thank you for the critics. I know that editing complex sequence diagram may not be comfortable, therefore, I work hard on the new major version (4.0). I apologize for this inconvenience.

Reverse Engineer

Hi,

Is there any way to reverse engineer a DB into an ER Diagram with Software Ideas Modeler?

Thanks!

Dusan Rodina - softwareideas.net 8 April 2010 16:06:10

RE: Reverse Engineer

Hi,

it is not possible in the current version. However, this feature will be introduced in the next major version - 4.0, which should be released in one or two months.

Good job

Dusan,

This is an excellent effort so far. Keep this going. I hope more users donate to support development as your Software Ideas Modeler certainly deserves it.

Regards,

Sai.

Very good job

I'm very impressed by your software.

I spent few days to find a free UML modeler software and finally I think that yours is the best. It has all diagrams I need and the interface is better than all other softwares I seen. Did you use WPF to do it?

I have some remarks to ameliorate your software in a next version:

# it could be great if I could change the parameters of a method when I double-click on it and not just the name.

# in the use case diagram, why there is no package in the tools list?

RE: Very good job

Thanks.

I considered whether to use WPF or WinForms. Finally, I chose WinForms mainly because of lower system requirements. However, I don't reject switch to WPF in the future.

The proposed improvements will be certainly included the next version.

Suggested features are included in version 3.12.
