RE: How to add substate

Hi,

you can do it this way: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a1Mvpcmd1BM

Just insert the new states into the composite state.

Tech Mgr

I was wondering if there are plans to allow for linking between diagrams. I would like to be able to create a Use Case and then link one of the objects on the Use Case to an Activity Diagram. Similar to the Off-Page connector in Visio.

Dusan Rodina - softwareideas.net 15 September 2011 8:43:10

RE: Tech Mgr

It is already possible.

Right-click on an element (e.g. Use Case), click on Add Existing Diagram menu item, select the diagram you want and confirm your choice with OK button. The link between element and diagram is created.

Now when you double-click on the element, the linked diagram will be open.

Business diagrams

Would it be possible to add business activity diagrams, business use cases, business process diagrams etc?

(so.. all the business modeling diagrams)

or is this already possible with SIM?

RE: Business diagrams

I plan to add support for these diagrams in the next major version - 5.

Is it possible to print out Attribute and Method Documentation (Class Diagram) in Documentation generation? I just see the Class Documentation!

Regards Joe

P.S. Really good piece of Software!!!

RE:

Unfortunately, it is not possible in the current version. Better options will be available in the next major version - 5.

RE: RE:

Is it possible to use the "SoftwareIdesModeler.Core.dll" to create my own Doc out of the XML Model? Or do I need a license Key for it?

Regards, Joe

If you want, you can try it. However, there is no user documentation for it.

Hi Dušan,

First of all I want to thank you for developing this great tool(I just discovered it, and I'm unhappy that I haven't discovered it earlier :) )

Secondly I have one question about 'drawing lines'.

Maybe it is a 'silly' question because it is obvious but I haven't seen the light yet.

Is it possible to draw a horizontal/Vertical line(I only succeed to draw a diagonally one) via drawing->line.

And is it possible to style to e.g. dashed line?

Thanks in advance

Frank

RE:

Hi,

thank you :)

This problem is caused by same algorithm for evaluation of minimal width and height of element, which is correct for other elements, but not for line. Thank you for your notice - it will be fixed soon.

Better options of styling will be introduced in version 5.

RE: RE:

Problem with line is now fixed in version 4.101.

Style UI diagram elements

Dear Dušan,

I would like to ask you, if you plan implement styling of UI elements?

I would like to have for example combobox with stereotype "locked", that will have gray background. Another example is UI element with stereotype "obligatory" with soft-yellow background.

Thank you very much for your answer in advance.

P.S.: SIM is a great software! Thank you for your work.

Best regards from Czech,

V.N.

RE: Style UI diagram elements

Yes, I plan to improve styling of UI elements. It should be implemented in version 5.

Thank you for your favor.

First, let me commend you on your sterling work. Your tool is complete enough to use as my modeling tool for for my own Master's work and for teaching and using UML. For a one-man show, this is very impressive. There's not much that I want to do that I would need the (much) more expensive tools over this one.

I was wondering if you'd consider changing the DFD tool over to Gane & Sarsen notation. It is the more commonly used notation, in my opinion.

I also noticed that while the idea of stereotypes is pretty much a UML notion, they are also potentially very useful in non-UML modeling. I had occation to desire to use stereotypes in a DFD, and while the tool lets me specify them, they don't appear.

Once again, thank you for your very good work

RE:

You are welcome. Thank you very much for your positive words.

I will add Gane & Sarsen notation in one of next versions.

I will also improve work with stereotypes.
